February 2011 (posted out of order)

Squiggles loves going to Aunt Cami’s on Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  Cami has all kinds of fun toys,

More importantly, Cami has kids at her house!  Squiggles LOVES her cousins, and always wants to do whatever they’re doing.

In late February / early March, Squiggles became VERY sick.  She was vomiting and had a fever for almost a week.  We were in touch with our pediatrician, who finally recommended that we take Squiggles to Children’s Hospital Emergency Room so that Squiggles could get some fluids put back into her system.  She was such a sad girl when she was sick:

And such a brave girl at the hospital! 

But after that she felt so much better.  A couple days later we had some fairly warm weather, so we took the baby to the park.  She loved it!

Mommy and Daddy had fun, too – we love our baby girl!

This young lady loves her daddy!

She has recently started feeding Mommy and Daddy.  Usually she gives us ABC (Already Been Chewed) treats.   Such a generous little girl.

Squiggles loves to go on family walks.  Daddy loves them too, he just hates posing for pictures.

I do believe the baby was laughing at Mommy’s silly hat in this photo:

Squiggles spends a lot of time helping us reorganize our house (for example, by emptying our bookshelves and DVD basket.

She has a love hate relationship with balloons.  She squeals and giggles when she plays with them, but also occasionally starts yelling at them for some unknown offense.

Squiggles’ first camping trip! (March 2011, 12.5 months)

After we took a road trip from Denver to Logan, we took another road trip to Southern Utah – specifically to Zion’s National Park.  We brought Squiggles’ favorite tractor / farm animal toy to play with in Grandpa and Grandma’s brand-new camping trailer.  

The next day, we hiked most of Angel’s Landing.  Squiggles loved it… especially all the red sand everywhere.

Grandma let us sleep on her nice big bed in the trailer while she slept on one of the kids’ beds in the main cabin.  Grandma is nice like that.

The next day we went hiking again – it was a bit cool that day, so we bundled up.  Squiggles loved hiking with Daddy.

She also enjoyed our mile-high picnic.

She helped Grandpa outside.  Yes, I let her crawl around in the red dirt… it all came out, but she was one filthy baby for a few days!  She loved every second of it.

We went on a short hike with stunning views from dizzying heights.  Grandpa wanted a turn carrying the baby. 

Mommy kept telling Grandpa, “Get my baby away from that ledge, Silly Grandpa!”

But Grandpa just laughed at Mommy because there was a strong fence.

Miss Squiggles loved stealing Grandpa’s hat and putting it on her head.  It was a little big!

She had fun telling stories and jokes with Grandma.  Silly Grandma.

We had a great time with family in the wilderness, and Miss Squiggles got mad every time we made her go inside.  She loves the outdoors!

To Denver (12 months)

Soon after Squiggles turned one, we went to visit my sister Karen and her brood.  We met little Miss Lucy, who was only a few days old.  What an honor!  Squiggles was most delighted with her squeaky new toy:

She also loved playing with her cousins Max and Eli in their ginormous backyard playground:

As if that weren’t enough, she got to play with Grandma:

And Grandpa!

And Zoey! 

Zoey is the first dog that Squiggles has spent an appreciable amount of time with. 

It was so fun seeing Miss Squiggles have so much fun!
